Virtual courses and online learning offers participants the opportunity to work and learn remotely using a variety of digital tools. The rise of online learning classrooms and virtual teaching has only increased during this unprecedented time – one of the main effects of COVID-19 for professionals around the world. As classrooms shift to virtual platforms you might assume that little or no preparation is needed for the parties on either side of the screen. Many might also assume that it’s a “passive” method of studying and acquiring knowledge. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Virtual courses and online learning can be as interactive and successful as traditional learning, but they require more effort and preparation: participants still enrolled in classes are meeting online and need to demonstrate to the instructors that they are present, paying attention and actively participating. On the other hand, instructors need to assure and verify that full connectivity (visual and vocal) exists among the virtual classroom. This is the only way the virtual interaction and learning process will be fully successful.

Before attending any virtual course, it is very important to understand some common rules for good online etiquette. This ensures that the knowledge which is conveyed during the course is received fully, correctly and without any disturbance.

This workshop is a great opportunity to learn how to fully benefit from any virtual class training and online learning process. During this 1–day session some definite do’s and don’ts for the participants in the virtual classroom will be presented, explained and tested.

This is an interactive preparatory workshop that should be taken by everyone who will be attending virtual courses offered by GeoModes and those who attend virtual meetings on a daily basis during their professional work.
